Top 10 Ad Agencies

According to www.jointhemediacircus.com the top 10 Ad Agencies are as follows: Abbott Mead Vickers BBO, JWT, McCann Erickson, M&C Saatchi, Publicis, Raliney Kelly Campbell Roalfe, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Ogilvy & Mather, DDB London, and Leo Burnett.

I visited several websites for these agencies and was very impressed that the atmosphere was highly creative, yet easy to navigate. I especially liked the layout of the Leo Burnett website which featured a pencil that drew with the move of your mouse. The website felt highly interactive.

The Abbott Mead Vickers BBO site showcased a clever ad regarding bike safety. The ad had bike riders disguised as camouflage in traditional military colors. The byline read "If you can't see the drivers mirror, you can't be seen" "Think!" I thought that this was a creative way to approach the topic of bike safety, which is traditionally approached with scare tactic advertising.

The Ogilvy & Mather website included ads from many clients, my favorite of which was Motorola. I liked the way their ads appealed to older as well as younger generations. This agency seemed to really know their clientele. There was one television ad geared to older consumers. This ad had a line of cowboys in rocking chairs that appeared to be in the old wild west. One of the cowboys has a Motorola phone that as he sits on his rocker emits a sexy woman's voice. Upon hearing this voice the cowboy leaves the wild west behind, leaving the other cowboys in awe. The commercial ends with the cowboys standing in front of a gleaming AT&T store, which appears to be the promised land. The agency also featured print ads geared toward younger consumers. Upon clicking on "moto" you are directed to a page with a background featuring a cell phone encasing a belly button ring. The print ads are fun and young. One ad in particular features a punk rock looking girl on a pink background with her mouth opening into the phone. The ad reads "gossip moto". I think this agency is great because of their wide range.

The last agency website I visited was RKCR. I loved their print ads for Bacardi. The ads were all similar in theme and highly recognizable. All of the Bacardi print ads were black with a splashing Bacardi element on the left and clever byline and Bacardi bottle on the right. My favorite of these was one that featured dancing feet made out of water. The right side of the ad read "feel the rhythm". Other ads with the same theme included one with a spiraling icy lemon exploding. The byline read "made to mix with lemon alive with taste".
